Getting to Mirinja Valley is easier than most people expect, but the last hour is the part nobody tells you about. Here is the route we give every guest who calls us.
By night bus to Lama
Direct night coaches leave Dhaka between 9 PM and 11 PM and reach Lama bus stand around 7 AM. This is the simplest option and the one we recommend for first time visitors. Book a seat on the right side of the coach for the hill section after Chakaria.
Via Chittagong or Cox Bazar
If you are already in Chittagong, take a Lama bound bus from Bahaddarhat. From Cox Bazar, travel to Chakaria first and change there. Both routes take roughly four hours.
The last twelve kilometres
From Lama bus stand the resort is a twelve kilometre climb on a narrow hill road. Local jeeps run this route, but the road is steep and the drivers are quick. We keep a reserved jeep at the stand for guests who ask for it when booking, and this is genuinely the calmer choice.
When to leave
Aim to reach the resort before four in the afternoon. The hill road has no lighting, and the last stretch after dark is not something you want on your first visit.
